Will a flower grow with vinegar, salt water, lemon juice, apple juice?

It%26#039;s possible.Why?
Will a flower grow with vinegar, salt water, lemon juice, apple juice?
Is your question about actually GROWING plants, or more like keeping cut flowers alive longer in a vase? For GROWING plants, a substrate or soil is needed that supports the plant roots, allows for adequate moisture and drainage, allows root penetration and allows for the absorption of plant nutrients. Just liquids like the above won%26#039;t do it.

More generally speaking- Salt kills plants, so salt water? no. Lemon juice and vinegar are likely too acidic and will probably kill a plant, although in a diluted solution, may be somewhat beneficial if pH levels are too high in the potting soil. Apple juice? Same thing.

But look.. use water to keep your cut flowers alive. It comes right out of the faucet and it%26#039;s so simple. If you%26#039;re trying to grow a plant, use potting soil....and water.

Sow direct flower seeds?

I,VE BEEN TRYING FOR TWO YEARS TO GROW THESE SEEDS IN POTS BUT THEY GROW ABOUT 10mm THEN DIE WHAT AM I DOING WRONG .HELP PLEASE :(
Sow direct flower seeds?
If you are using the same seeds from 2 years ago, that could be the problem - old seeds sometimes won%26#039;t germinate at all and when they do they are not healthy plants.

Start out with new seeds, a good planting medium and small pots (egg carton works great, or the 4 packs you get when buying annuals). You want to make sure you water your seeds once a day (only once) and keep a light over them (grow light if possible but a regular light bulb works just as good). When you start seeing growth, keep the daily watering up and move the light up away from them just a little. If you notice your seedlings are kinda lanky (tall stemmed) then lower the light back to them. Not too close though because they will burn. You%26#039;ll just have to watch them to get that happy medium on the light. Once you get them to about an inch or two tall start taking them outside (open air, not direct sunlight) for about a week but make sure you cover them or place them back inside during the night, then the next week let them stay out all day/all night - not in direct sunlight. Continue with the daily watering and then slowly introduce them to direct sunlight at various lengths until they are good hardy little plants. Then you can transplant them into your garden. Hope this helps and works for you - it%26#039;s how I do all my seeds. Good luck!
Reply:Maybe to much water, not enough sun. maybe sowed too close. I would take the seeds and lay them between 2 paper towels placed in a dish, pie pan. Keep the paper towels wet ( slight water everyday) and when the seedlings are big enough to transplant move them to dirt or peat pots.
Reply:Okay ,since you didn%26#039;t say much about the kind of flowers, then I will give you a general answer. First are these the same seeds you are planting every year ,from the same packet? If so they are too old. If you look on the seed packets you will see an expiration date. If that is okay, are you planting in pots outside? If so, you may be putting them out too early climate wise or they may need propegating inside first before planting outside. To do this, you can get inexpensive plastic trays for starting seedlings of plants. You put the soil in each little square and plant the seed as directed on the packet, some you barely brush the soil over, others about an eighth to a quarter inch deep. You water them , then some have a plastic lid that you put over it sometimes water or a layer of wet paper towels in the tray under the plants, the lid acts like a greenhouse and keeps moisture inside and then you put in a sunny area and let it germinate and once they reach a few inches in height, they can be gently lifted out and transplanted into pots of your choice with potting soil(I use miracle gro with feed in it, and moisture hold,as it will prevent you from having to over water it) , and be careful not to get them in full hot sun until they aclimate to the outside. indirect to partial to start, unless the packet says they are a shade plant. All that information should be on your packet. But seeds expire, so buy new ones each season. Some flowers if brought inside during winter, can grow all year and be put out again in the spring.visual arts

A perfect flower must have all the following EXCEPT.....?

a. anthers

b. ovary

c. sepals

d. ovules
A perfect flower must have all the following EXCEPT.....?
An anther is the pollen-bearing part of the stamen. An ovary is the ovule-bearing lower part of a pistil that ripens into a fruit. A plant does not need all it%26#039;s fruits to survive so it is probably this one. A sepal is one of the separate, usually green parts forming the calyx of a flower. An ovule is a minute structure in seed plants, containing the embryo sac and surrounded by the nucellus, that develops into a seed after fertilization.

In some species, unisexual (male or female) flowers are produced on separate plants. So a %26quot;male%26quot; plant would not need an ovary. Some plants have both male and female parts on one plant but other species have just the male or just the female.

I could be wrong. I%26#039;m not 100% sure. Did they pass your test back with the answer marked wrong but the teacher didn%26#039;t write in the right answer but you need to know it for the final? If so, which one did you pick that was marked wrong?

Whats the meaning of a red flower or yellow flowers as a gift to a girl u like?

Red Rose - the red rose is primarily a symbol of love, both platonic and romantic, as well as symbolizing the heights of passion.

White Rose - this flower symbolizes purity, innocence and serenity, hence its traditional popularity in bridal bouquets.

Yellow Rose - this is a symbol of friendship and happiness, as are most yellow flowers.

Cream Rose - the cream rose is associated with charm, grace and thoughfulness.

Lily - these elegant flowers have always been a symbol of purity.

Sunflowers - surprisingly, sunflowers are associated with haughtiness.

Tulip - the vibrant tulip is a symbol for fame.

Violets - this flower is associated with modesty
Whats the meaning of a red flower or yellow flowers as a gift to a girl u like?
Well red is the colour of love, lust, anger - basically intense emotion. Giving a girl red flowers means you definitely feel something for her. Yellow is the colour of sunshine, happiness and... friendship. So I suggest you don%26#039;t give yellow - it%26#039;s quite informal.

o The specific purpose of purple roses is to signify that the giver has fallen in love with the recipient at first sight.

Meanwhile, coral and orange roses signal desire.

* The meaning of yellow roses is joy and friendship.

* We express our gratitude and appreciation with pink roses....

* While feelings of admiration and sympathy find words with roses that are light pink in color.

* Peach is more ambiguous, as it can signify either sympathy or gratitude.

Red roses are the traditional symbol for love and romance, and a time-honored way to say %26quot;I love you.%26quot; The red rose has long symbolized beauty and perfection. A bouquet of red roses is the perfect way to express your deep feelings for someone special.

As a symbol of grace and elegance, the pink rose is often given as an expression of admiration. Pink roses can also convey appreciation as well as joyfulness. Pink rose bouquets often impart a gentler meaning than their red counterparts.

The bright, sunny color of yellow roses evokes a feeling of warmth and happiness. The warm feelings associated with the yellow rose are often akin to those shared with a true friend. As such, the yellow rose is an ideal symbol for joy and friendship.

White roses represent innocence and purity and are traditionally associated with marriages and new beginnings. The white rose is also a symbol of honor and reverence, and white rose arrangements are often used as an expression of remembrance.

With their blazing energy, orange roses are the embodiment of desire and enthusiasm. Orange roses often symbolize passion and excitement and are an expression of fervent romance. A bouquet of orange roses will send a meaningful message.

The unique beauty of the lavender rose has captured many hearts and imaginations. With their fantastical appearance, lavender roses are a perfect symbol of enchantment. The lavender rose is also traditionally used to express feelings of love at first sight.

Im going to start my diet today. Im 180lb and im 5%26#039;7. I want to lose about 40lbs by Februaury because my husband comes back from deployment and I want to look good. Anyway I eat sunflower seeds all day long. I think that they help slow down on my smoking also. Does anyone know if they are fattening? I know that I eat alot of fattening foods and eat late at night but im gonna try and stop that, but I really dont want to stop the habbit of the sunflower seeds unless I can find out if they are contributing to my wieght gain. Hopefully someone knows, and if they are what else could I eat that gives me something to do, but doesnt make me fatter. Thanks
Are Sun Flower Seeds that fattening?
yes and no the salted ones are the natural ones arn%26#039;t
Reply:Yes they are, both the salted and the natural kind. However there is good news for you, sunflower seeds contain the kind of natural fatty acids that our body needs! The kinds that are actually healthy for us. If you stop eating a lot of fatty foods and stop eating late at night, get in some exercise, you will be fine. 40lbs by February is feasible, but you%26#039;re going to have to bust your ***.
Reply:Sunflower seeds are highly caloric, but they contain only healthy fats. Over eating any one food will contribute to weight gain. Limit your sunflower seeds to 2 Tablespoons (level) per day, that%26#039;s about 180 calories. You can eat lots of veggies for almost no calories, I love carrots (plain %26amp; raw). Increase your veggies, fruit and whole grains. Cut all soda and high fructose foods out. And %26quot;deploy%26quot; yourself for a daily brisk walk.

Proclamation No. 5574. The Rose Proclaimed the National

Floral Emblem of the United States of America

Proc. No. 5574. Nov. 20, 1986, 51 F.R. 42197, provided:

Americans have always loved the flowers with which God decorates our land. More often than any other flower, we hold the rose dear as the symbol of life and love and devotion, of beauty and eternity. For the love of man and woman, for the love of mankind and God, for the love of country, Americans who would speak the language of the heart do so with a rose.

We see proofs of this everywhere. The study of fossils reveals that the rose has existed in America for age upon age. We have always cultivated roses in our gardens. Our first President, George Washington, bred roses, and a variety he named after his mother is still grown today. The White House itself boasts a beautiful Rose Garden. We grow roses in all our fifty States. We find roses throughout our art, music, and literature. We decorate our celebrations and parades with roses. Most of all, we present roses to those we love, and we lavish them on our altars, our civil shrines, and the final resting places of our honored dead.

The American people have long held a special place in their hearts for roses. Let us continue to cherish them, to honor the love and devotion they represent, and to bestow them on all we love just as God has bestowed them on us.

The Congress, by Senate Joint Resolution 159 [Pub.L. 99.449, Oct. 7, 1986, 100 Stat. 1128, which enacted this section], has designated the rose as the National Floral Emblem of the United States and authorized and requested the President to issue a proclamation declaring this fact.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RONALD REAGAN, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim the rose as the National Floral Emblem of the United States of America.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of November, in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty-six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and eleventh.

Also, when you are in bloom, do you fully celebrate your time on Earth, or are you focused on your imminent death?

Which strategy do you think organized religion subscribes to?
When a flower is in full bloom, do you celebrate its beauty or mourn its iminent death?
I love this question! For a long time I was really down.I wasted the whole winter mourning a break up.I stayed inside all the time and drank by myself and hung out on here waaay too much. Now that spring is here, and I%26#039;m completely healed,I feel so alive again! I feel stronger than ever.I have a social life again, other than the Internet.I%26#039;ve been going out with new friends that I have made and reconnected with old friends that I kind of shut out because of my negative state of mind.I%26#039;m really living in the moment now and celebrating life with my new positive attitude.I%26#039;m 33 now (almost 34) and I never felt so young.I just started living and celebrating and plan to keep it that way for as long as possible!
Reply:Spiritually speaking, when you are in full bloom you should seek the path to be in eternal bloom. When you are fading in your years, the nerves, body become weak and mindset gets fixed afters years of habits %26amp; attachments to material, religous, relatives etc. What is the use of digging the well for water when you get thirsty?Best wishes,
Reply:I tend to do both concurrently. After all, how can you fully appreciate the value of something if you don%26#039;t recognize that its existence is finite?

Organized religion tends to fixate on death and what supposedly takes place afterward. When you do that, life becomes little more than a preparation for something else. And it makes it far easier to devalue life - to take a life or forfeit your own because you think there%26#039;s something better awaiting you on the other side. That%26#039;s primarily what makes religion so dangerous and a constant threat to the continuation of our species.
Reply:Title question: I enjoy the flower as it blooms.

Question #2: I try to enjoy life to the fullest. There is nothing more depressing than being around someone (of any age, mind you) that has the half-empty view of %26#039;having one foot in the grave%26#039;. My mother-in-law was like this for a while. I love her dearly, but her pessimism about her age (and no she was not ailing in any way - she was in perfect health) was very depressing.

Question #3: I think many organized religions focus on the death and afterlife bit. They by and large want a person to be cautious and vigilant in their daily deeds in order to secure a pleasant after life. This holds true for many religions.
Reply:I celebrate it%26#039;s beauty and it%26#039;s scent.

I have no fear of death and it is not on my mind very much.

%26quot;A man%26#039;s ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.%26quot; - Albert Einstein, %26quot;Religion and Science%26quot;, New York Times Magazine, November 9, 1930
Reply:I appreciate the beauty manifested through it%26#039;s natural complexity and the relationship it shares with ALL life on Earth.

Death only makes way for things yet to come and go. If we fail to appreciate things for the time they%26#039;re present, life will pass without ever being %26#039;properly%26#039; experienced.
Reply:I focus more on the bloom, Jeff. But, I prepare for each stage as I tend my roses.

That was beautifully put.

I think different religions (organized and not) and individuals have different views on the bloom.

Pagans for instance are as in awe of the death as the bloom. The entire process is beautiful to them. The decay is no less a gift than the bud. Buddhists seem to acknowledge each without placing one above the other because to do so would be to form desire. Some Christians give the after life little thought, while others seem obsessed with it. I think it depends on the person.
Reply:Depends which flower. For Peony%26#039;s (my favorites), I wait for months and months for them to bloom, only to have them die a week or so later. So I enjoy them while I can, and try to remember what they looked like to hold myself over until next year.

Organized religion subscribes to the latter, for the most part.
Reply:aw Jeff, you%26#039;re a true poet at heart. lol.

there can be no true beauty without the knowledge that it will fade and die, that%26#039;s what makes it so poignant.

Fake flowers are less beautiful than real ones for this very reason, but if you can convince yourself they ARE real, what%26#039;s the difference?

religion takes away the fear a little, capitalizes on the fear of the unknown, but realistically nobody can survive their own death, even though it%26#039;s tempting to believe that. Have you ever heard a religious person ask a terminally ill one to pass on a message to their dead friends/family? congratulate them? hardly. We just kid ourselves that death will never really happen to us.

So religion tries to convince us that we are fake flowers, no less beautiful, but fake and imortal.

So, like a flower we have few days. I believe organized religion subscribes to both, although we only partially mourn our imminent deaths. %26quot;Death is swallowed up in victory%26quot; (1 Cor. 15:54).

Job 14:10-14, %26quot;But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?%26quot; So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. Christians are aware that God wants us to enjoy our lives. But like the flower, I am aware that I will die in the not far future. I will be in heaven or hell for eternity. That should concern everyone.

Likewise, I celebrate my time here on Earth.

A good time to worry about the afterlife is about two minutes before we die. There%26#039;s an awful lot of living to do in the meantime.

I think most religions focus on death and what happens after we die stressing that the time here is bad, evil, punishment, a test etc
Reply:I celebrate the flower%26#039;s full bloom as I do celebrate my life in full bloom. The Bible states the Lord wants us to have an abundant life. I also look forward to my afterlife with Him, but still celebrate the present time.
Reply:As a believer, I%26#039;m more focused on eternity. This life is much like the flower, it%26#039;s only temporary.

Close your eyes and picture a flower, what flower did you picture and what do YOU feel this means spiritually

(I asked this a few days ago and someone reported it for %26#039;solicitation%26#039; LOL report if you want as these points mean nothing to me.}

Peace Be With You,

Debra M
Close your eyes and picture a flower, what flower did you picture and what do YOU feel this means spiritually
hello there debra m, i pictured a white tulip. i love tulips. they have strength, simplicity and elegance (spiritually i guess these are things i admire in others and can strive for). pbwy also.

p.s. i nearly spat my coffee out onto the keyboard when i read that someone reported you. crazy.
Reply:White lily.

To me it represents purity :)

edit: Meh. Why didn%26#039;t I say poppy? LOL
Reply:I pictured an orange anemone %26amp; witch hazel. I think that it reflects the wonderful day I%26#039;ve had (the weather is absolutely beautiful in PA) and how close spring feels. It also might have something to do with the song I%26#039;ve recently fallen in love with, Kaze no Hana (Flower of the Wind), since anemone is Greek for wind flower...
Reply:Spiritually I fell like sneezing.
Reply:I see a bouquet of bright colors and smell a variety of fragrances.

I haven%26#039;t a clue as to what you are SOLICITING HERE except our answers, and in that, all YA Qs are solicitations in my understanding......

What this boquet means is that I%26#039;ve got various abilities talents and gifts to use as I need them, and also that there is a wide variety of ways that God lets me know I%26#039;m a child of God, and each is different in visual and aroma.

Like John Denver put it: You(God) fill up my senses....

And, congratulate me on reaching level 5 this week, which while it means nothing in one way to me, means something in another way to me, so wish me well, ok? (I know, I%26#039;m bordering on chatting here) This is in response to the part of the Q talking about points....

Thanks for this awesome Q :)
Reply:Grape hyacinth, the small ones.

It was my favorite flower when I was a kid. Every May, we kept fresh %26#039;bluebells%26#039; in a vase that was a statuette of Mary and said our nighttime prayers there.

Probably your avatar put me in mind of that.

Reply:Daisey Comes to mind. Wild ones are everywhere, where I grew up as a child. Nothing spiritual about it. I live in the city now and Flowers are just not seen like they are in the country.
Reply:I picture a daisy that is in full bloom and full of life! For me, it symbolized purity in it%26#039;s whiteness, as I am a child of Christ, washed white in His blood. Also, it is not withered, as I too will never die spiritually. I am alive forever and will live in Heaven pure and cleansed and righteous before My Father in Heaven all due from His love for me thru His Son dying for me. Peace be with you also
Reply:I saw an hibiscus... probably only means that%26#039;s my favorite flower... no spiritual meaning I%26#039;m sure...
Reply:A Tiger Lily. It always reminds me of my Grandmother. A bold, red-head who%26#039;s love for God, her family and having fun is still an inspiration to me.
Reply:blue hydrangea. not sure it means too much spiritually..just planted a bunch in my backyard...

not sure why i thought of a painting istead of the real thing.
Reply:I pictured a Dandelion, I have no clue what it means
Reply:A yellow and white daisy. No spiritual significance that i know of.

Does the number of leaves on the Buddhist lotus flower symbolise anything?

I%26#039;ve found lotus flowers with 8 leaves as well as 12 leaves. On the 12 leaved symbol the middle is a sun surrounded by the 12 leaves. Just curious about what this means because this symbol has found me a few times now and I%26#039;d like to know if there%26#039;s a story behind it. Thanks!!
Does the number of leaves on the Buddhist lotus flower symbolise anything?
I think there%26#039;s no significance. I can say it firmly because, Buddhism is devoid of supersitions, so number meaning or such numerology things didn%26#039;t mean anything.

How much flower etc do i need to just make 8 yorkshire puddings.Hurry up the dinners nearly cooked?
Yorkshire Pudding

¼ cup of bacon dripping

½ cup milk

1 egg, well-beaten

½ cup sifted all-purpose flour

¼ teaspoon salt

Temp: 450º F Time: 10 - 15 min. I use a glass pie plate so if you also do, turn the heat down to 425°F.

Tip

One tasty and cooking trick - save in a mug in the fridge drained off bacon drippings to use in this recipe - also for that super taste in English Roast Potatoes!

Now combine well-beaten egg and milk; beat till light. Gradually beat in sifted flour and salt; beat with dover beater till smooth. Let stand 30 minutes. (I personally don%26#039;t bother with this letting stand 30 minutes step.)

Put the bacon dripping into an 8%26quot;x8%26quot; baking pan or divided up between 6 large muffin tins. Heat in oven, make sure you watch pan as it will start to smoke! Pour batter into hot pan; bake in hot over till done. Serves 4.

The trick is the hot fat and the hot oven. Don%26#039;t keep opening the oven to check. Serve immediately as it will deflate as it gets cold. Pour nice beef gravy over top. Or you can use %26quot;Yorkies%26quot; with chicken.

In England, as a kid due to food shortage, we were given the choice of having our slice of %26#039;Yorkie%26#039; on our dinner plate or served as our %26#039;sweet%26#039; with jam on it. Of course we always choose our Yorkie as a %26#039;sweet%26#039; else we didn%26#039;t get any dessert!

Is a flower a geological feature?

No.

I could be considered a geographical feature, since fauna varies with region. Since you posted your question in the Geography category, I thought you might need that, also.
Is a flower a geological feature?
No. A geological feature is something formed by Earth%26#039;s natural processes, like a volcano, lake, or mountain. It is something not living, as most things that are alive are not %26#039;permanent%26#039; features of a region - that is to say a flower could be torn out of the grown - not so in the case of a volcano.
Reply:Geological features generally include non-living features of the landscape and Earth%26#039;s structure. Rocks, fossils, valleys, mountains, rivers, glaciers, cliffs...these are geological features.

A flower is a biological organism that *interacts* with the geological features of Earth.

I have some very fine roots growing in my flower beds. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

I have some very fine roots growing in my flower beds. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?
Roto till it. My Mantis will till and chop roots up to 1/2%26quot; diameter. she doesn%26#039;t really like those big ones too much, but gives them hades. Great organic matter stays in your garden.

Dig them out by hand - aka: hire a high school kid to do it and save your back. (See the YA %26quot;pets/horses%26quot; venue, lots of kids want work to buy their own horsie.)

Battle them and plant away, they%26#039;ll rot in time. Again, good organics.

Want to borrow my %26quot;Manty Mae%26quot; Mantis? ( Yes, my tiller is named as are my car, certain plants, dogs, home....it%26#039;s a Reynwater thing. )
Reply:I had the same thing, and I just pulled them out by hand if I could. Some were very long with lots and lots of little tendrils growing from them.

I think they may have been from the oak tree, which is still in the yard. Every once in awhile, I%26#039;ll see a small sprout that looks like an oak leaf or two, and I pull it up. It comes out of the ground quite easily.

The roots do not seem to affect the other plants in the garden. I removed what I could when I planted, and I don%26#039;t know what%26#039;s underneath anymore. Haven%26#039;t seen any signs of anything other than an errant weed or two and a few grass blades.skin disease

You can do a couple of things. If you want to go for the monochromatic, try lavender and purple azaleas. If you%26#039;re going for traditional, tulips, white roses, or daisies work nice. If you%26#039;re going for all out color, choose your greens first. Giving out flower bulbs as wedding favors need a poem?
Please do not waste your money giving out flower bulbs as wedding favors. Wedding favors are unnecessary at best, and they are often a burden. Flower bulbs fall into the burden category, straight to the landfill.

You don%26#039;t have to give wedding favors. Please don%26#039;t give wedding favors. Please don%26#039;t insult the people who spent as much as they could on your gift by tossing money into the landfill with flower bulbs.

If a flower has no oxygen will it die faster?
NO IT WILL NOT, U guys r dumb. It preformes cellular respiration, however, that gives of carbon dioxide as a biproduct. Thus Photosynthesis can take place and Oxygen is a biproduct of that, so its a never ending cycle.

After the flower dies, do good gardners dig up the tulip bulbs, place in a dark place and re-plant next year?

No, it is best to leave the bulbs in the ground. That way they can grow nutrients for the next blooming season. They harden off in the colder temps in the winter. This step is necessary to produce the blooms.

How? See first answer (and please ignore the rude guy). Why? It%26#039;s sterile and that%26#039;s important. It%26#039;s lightweight. Reply:I hope that I looked at the right picture of what a pomander is when i queried it and if it is the right pic that I looked up then I think they will be fine by themselves. If you add the bow that may be over doing it with it but this is your wedding you should do what you want and if you want the bow above it then go for it. If you can post an example of one so I know for sure we are talking about the same thing.

I will email you personally and let you know once I see the pic.
Reply:SURE IT IS YOUR WEDDING DARLING! YOU NEED TO DECARATE IN ANYWAY YOU THINK IS ACCEPTABLE! SET A LITTLE ARRANGEMENT OF THE FLOWERS AND THEN PUT THEM ON A FEW PEWS AND TAKE A LOOK THAT WAY YOU WILL HAVE A PERSONAL VIEW TO SHOW YOU THE WAY IT WILL LOOK ON THAT DAY!!super nanny

I have a spot in my flower bed that flowers will not grow in. Other plants around it grow fine. Any ideas?

Could be something was poured out there (old cooking oil, gasoline) that takes years to break down? Could also be moles/voles. See if there is a tunnel leading around that spot. They could be eating the roots of whatever you plant there!

If all else fails, dig up that spot and remove it. Put new dirt down. If you are going to go to this expense, make sure you got it all. Short of that, you could feed and compost the spot and try planting there again next year.

No matter what, I would dig there and see what you can find. Maybe take a soil sample to a county office.

Place a beautiful outdoor gardent accent/statue/gazing ball or bird bath.
Reply:Plant new soil in that 1 area then wait a day for the other flowers to get used to it and then plant some new flowers in that area.
Reply:Do a soil test. Take a sample to your local cooperative extension (there%26#039;s one for every state) and they should be able to identify the problem.
Reply:It could be a couple of things--soil or sun.

For soil it could be due to soil fungus issues. I read an article about covering the area with clear plastic and letting it bake in the sun for a week or so. I think then you need to ammend it with topsoil or compost to make it fertile again. Add some peat moss and sand too--for kicks. It works in my vegetable garden.

If it is sun, maybe it is getting more or less or what is planted there is not right for it.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
Reply:If weeds grow there, then I would just mix in some top soil and peat moss and try again. If nothing grows there, then I would dig the area out and replace with top soil.
Reply:More information is needed to answer this question properly. What are the sunlight conditions? Is the area wet, dry, or in between? If it gets more shade than sun and overly dry, hostas will do nicely. So will lamiums, creeping Jenny and cranesbill. These are all perennials and grow nicely in the shady spots of my garden. The soil in my garden can get a bit dry but they seem to be doing o.k. These plants can stand a bit of moisture as well (not boggy but damp).

Of course, it%26#039;s also possible that something is wrong with the soil. Do cats and/or dogs like to use that spot as a bathroom or is it possible something chemical was spilled on it? If either is the case, you might try replacing the soil in that spot with a good quality outdoor garden soil. Mothballs placed around the area will deter cats. I%26#039;ve had problems with cats and it worked for me.affiliate

What other flower can be used in insecticide making?

I don%26#039;t know what flowers can be used in making insecticides, but I do know what flower keeps the mosquitos away: marigolds. They hate marigolds. Plant them as a border for your patio and live the summer mosquito-free. The only thing is that they don%26#039;t smell good.fitness
